This insulin syringe units calculator converts any dose and concentration into the units and milliliters to draw, with a syringe diagram showing the fill line.
How to use the Insulin Syringe Units Calculator
- Enter the desired dose and choose mcg or mg.
- Enter the concentration and choose mg/mL or mcg/mL, or tap a preset.
- Choose the syringe type.
- Read the result card. It updates as you type, and you can copy or share it.
About this calculator
U-100, U-50, and U-30 syringes all use the same scale: 1 unit equals 0.01 mL. The number only tells you the barrel size, so 10 units is the same volume on any of them.
Smaller barrels have more space between marks, which makes doses under 30 units easier to measure accurately.
Frequently asked questions
Is a unit on a U-50 syringe different from a U-100 unit?
No. Standard U-50 (0.5 mL) and U-30 (0.3 mL) insulin syringes are marked on the U-100 scale. Only the capacity differs.
What about tuberculin (1 mL) syringes?
Tuberculin syringes are marked in mL. Use the volume result instead of units.
